Kenya's geography and economic structure create some of the most compelling IoT use cases in the world. Smallholder farmers in Nakuru who need soil moisture data to decide when to irrigate. Logistics companies in Mombasa tracking refrigerated trucks carrying pharmaceutical cargo from the port to Nairobi. Schools in Kisumu monitoring electricity consumption to cut costs. These are not theoretical use cases. They are real problems our IoT team has built solutions for, and they share a common characteristic: the businesses that implemented them saw measurable returns within the first year.

One of the greatest challenges of IoT in Kenya is connectivity. LoRaWAN networks can cover large agricultural areas with very low power consumption. GSM-based solutions work on Safaricom and Airtel's wide coverage. Solar-powered edge devices can operate autonomously for weeks and sync when connectivity is available. We design IoT systems that are pragmatic about the realities of Kenyan infrastructure, not requiring stable broadband, not depending on power grid reliability, and built to survive the dust, heat, and humidity of real deployment environments.

Our IoT projects follow a hardware-software co-design approach: we work on the embedded firmware, the cloud platform that ingests and stores device data, and the dashboard or mobile app that makes that data actionable for the people who need it. We partner with local hardware suppliers and can source components, manage procurement, and oversee field installation, so you have a single accountable partner for the entire project, not three separate vendors who blame each other when something goes wrong.
